Quake SharePrivacy policy
Quake Share is designed to work without a user account, advertising identifiers or analytics.
Data processed
The app stores language and watch zones on the device. If alerts are enabled, it sends a randomly generated installation identifier, an authentication secret, the Firebase messaging token, language and saved watch zones to the Quake Share service so matching alerts can be delivered. The service also receives ordinary network information such as IP address as part of HTTPS requests.
Purpose and retention
Installation data is used only to deliver requested earthquake alerts. Turning alerts off asks the service to delete that installation and its watch zones. Invalid messaging tokens are deleted automatically. Event reports and operational delivery records may be retained for reliability and abuse prevention.
Providers
Earthquake reports come from USGS and EMSC. Firebase Cloud Messaging delivers optional notifications. OpenStreetMap map tiles and their infrastructure providers may receive network information and the viewed map area.
Choices
Notifications are opt-in and can be disabled in the app or system settings. The app does not request precise device location. No personal data is sold and no targeted advertising is used.
Safety notice
Quake Share reports detected events; it does not predict earthquakes or guarantee warning before shaking. Use official emergency channels as your primary safety source.
Questions can be sent through the developer contact listed in the relevant app store.
